A quiet moment for today.

Read slowly. Notice what stays with you. Let it become a prayer.

Scripture for today

1 Peter 4:10-11

“Use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as good stewards of God’s varied grace.”

Today’s devotional

Use What You’ve Been Given

Sit quietly for a breath and name one person near you who might need help today. In 1 Peter 4:10–11, writing to scattered Christian communities, Peter urges believers to steward the varied gifts God has given so the body serves one another and God is honored through both spoken and practical ministry. You may know you have an ability but hold back—waiting for permission, fearing mistakes, or assuming someone else will do it. Peter invites a different posture: gifts are entrusted for service, not display; they call for humble courage and mutual accountability. Trust that using a gift in love benefits another and shapes you. This afternoon, spend one hour doing a specific service using your ability (deliver a cooked meal, tutor, fix something, lead a short song, or offer administrative help) for a named neighbor or congregant; leave a note explaining you helped and why.

Today’s prayer

Lord, give me courage to steward the gifts you’ve given, serving my neighbor with humility and care. Help this small act reflect your grace and love.
